Where do you get your inspiration?

Today I received one of my favorite magazines in the mail and could hardly wait to sit down and read, oops... LOOK AT THE PICTURES!  I get a lot of creative inspiration from magazines.  I have a good reasons why.  Magazine editors spend loads of time and money to find out what is CURRENT in designer colors, styles, and theme.  Why wouldn't we want to get that information for the small price of a subscription?

Another great source for digital inspiration is the PAINT section of a hardware store, or department store.  There are probably hundreds of paint swatches that you can have for free and brochures from paint manufacturers that even show how colors can be mixed and matched to get unique pallets.  If you like to make greeting cards or Hybrid scrapbooking pages the paint chips are great for elements or color coordinating frames for small photos.  A couple of years ago Cami and I used paint chips on the cutest Christmas cards.  Shades of blue for Winter Wonderland cards were perfect.  We used Shades of green for Christmas tree cards.  It was fun and a cheap way to add variety to our supplies.

My absolute favorite website for color inspiration is www.design-seeds.com.  go check it out!

And of course... Nature inspires the Artist in all of us.   Nuff Said...lol  xoxox Beth

  1. Good times to remember: Christmas cards with the paint chip samples. Oh, and let's not forget the chocolate paint (ice cream) in the kitchen ;-) So glad that you turned me onto Design Seeds - I just love all of the fun color palettes!
